Advanced Action Theater™ Instructor

Guest artist, choreographer, and guest lecturer at various universities offering Master Classes and lectures in improvisation, composition, and somatic performance technique. Offer Master Classes and Workshops in Action Theater Technique and Movement Improvisation. Responsible for course material, instruction, marketing, and production. Workshops conducted for adults and children in both private and academic settings. Lead monthly intensive training in physical theater improvisation. This work focuses on a somatic approach to movement, sound, and narrative with an emphasis on interdisciplinary training.

FedPros, Partner

1999- Present

Provide expert level contracting consultation to commercial clients regarding government contracting. Responsible for developing and negotiating government contracting vehicles for private businesses interested in working with the US Government. Duties include developing government contracting vehicles for competitive markets and the General Services Administration. Acts as a Program Manager to facilitate proposal creation and approval process by partnering with the client's team. This process involves conducting research, creating technical documents, creating pricing matrices, developing contracting and pricing strategies, facilitating and managing general project progress, and supervising junior staff. Acts as a liaison between customer's and government negotiators, and supports clients by facilitating business and contract oriented meetings and projects. Coaches clients through negotiations with government officers. Provides “after award" consultation for clients in the government market including marketing, competitive proposal support, and contract maintenance. Responsible for all marketing and billing activities of FedPros.

Dance and Company- Company Co-Director, Board of Directors

Responsible for directing rehearsals; managing performance schedule and travel logistics; creating new choreography for inclusion in annual concert series; providing instruction in modern dance technique, composition, and improvisation; and advising company members. Responsible for booking, marketing, and producing theatrical shows in the United States and abroad for Working Title Productions, a New York city based dance theater company. Solo and company performer, choreographer, Administrator, workshop director, and master teacher. Collaborate with artists from various fields to produce non-traditional performance work in site specific and theatrical venues.

Dance/Movement Therapist

2005–2008

People Places, Inc.-Provided individual, family, and group Dance/Movement Therapy to children and their families within the Foster Parent program. Therapy utilized Dance Movement Therapy assessments and techniques in conjunction with program methodology. Provided assessments, treatment goals, interventions, professional court testimony, and counseling. Presented cases to government agencies to advocate for therapeutic services to be granted to children and families. Lead lectures, presentations, and in-service training for mental health professionals with regards to Creative Art Therapies.

Zap LLC Administrative Coordinator, Board Member

2002–2008

Co-founder of Board of Directors. Present and active member of the Board of Directors for a nonprofit theater organization in Santa Fe, NM. Developed and managed current matriculation system and licensure program. Duties included business development, advertising, providing research and formal documentation, attending and participating in bi-monthly board meetings, recording and documenting all ZAP activities, and offering formal training in Action Theater. Acted as a liaison between teachers, students, and arts community and the ZAP Board of Directors. Researched and wrote grants in support of ZAP Performance Projects.

Organizational Activities

Grant writing and Production

Youth Modern Dance Festival- Producer, Director, Grant Writer for a weekend festival that coordinates a performance event and modern dance instruction for several youth-based modern dance companies on the east coast. Participants include youth companies from NY, WVA, and VA.

Zap Performance Projects and ZAP LLC- Co-founded and sit on the ZAP Performance Productions Board of Directors. Chief Administrator for all legal, administrative, membership and matriculation.

Research-Successfully written and defended a Master's Thesis on augmenting seclusion and restraint practices with children utilizing Dance/Movement Therapy techniques. This project included in-depth quantitative and qualitative research, and a pilot study for training safe restraint procedures. The results of this study were that the training program was adopted as protocol at the research site for all existing and new employees. The workshop is currently being conducted at several institutions for staff training purposes.

Contracting-Successfully written and negotiated over 120 contracts with the US Government through the General Services Administration, awarding private companies the ability to do business with the federal government.
